The minimum entry requirements for the award are normally:
(i) An LLB degree
OR
(ii) Equivalent professional qualification such as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka
AND
(i) Evidence of successfully completing a post-secondary educational qualification in English medium
OR
(ii) An IELTS Score of 7 (If English is not your first language)
The LLM International Business Law degree is awarded by Staffordshire University, UK. This advanced course of study in contemporary business law can be completed in one year. The degree is designed to enable LLB graduates and legal practitioners to gain expertise in business law, to enhance their research skills and to study legal issues from a global perspective. This degree will prepare students to pursue rewarding careers in business and law as well as to pursue further postgraduate qualifications.
During the first and the second terms of study, you will study three core modules and a number of optional modules based on your interests and career aspirations. In the final term of study, you will undertake a dissertation on a business law topic of your choice. Teaching and learning is through interactive lectures and seminars. The problem-based approach to teaching and learning ensures a strong focus on independent learning and research.
On successful completion of the LLM International Business Law, students will be awarded with a Staffordshire University degree

Career Opportunities
Those who have already commenced their legal careers would be able to develop a specialization in Business law, Employment law. Information Technology Law or Intellectual property law and advance their careers. Others may choose from a wide range of options and commence their careers as legal executives in the corporate sector, legal researchers, academics or human resource executives. Alternatively, you may pursue further postgraduate studies.
