Bachelor Of Science Honours In Medical Science In Acupuncture

Requirements:

  • All students must possess a minimum of three passes in GCE Advanced Level (A/L) in Bioscience stream or equivalent qualification for international students.

Description:

This degree program is designed to create skilled health care professionals who are competent in using theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the form of acupuncture with expertise knowledge in assessing, diagnosing and treating patients of all age groups from infants to the elderly using both traditional and modern methods.

The program focuses on including pre-clinical subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Paraclinical subjects such as Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology. This also focuses on delivering theoretical and practical knowledge while associating a wide range of health conditions in the areas of paediatrics, gerontology, gynaecology, addictions, sports injury and pain management, mental health, oncology, dermatology and nutrition. Moreover, the curriculum focuses on developing the skills of critical and analytical thinking, including excellent interpersonal communication and a variety of professional practice skills. On successful completion of the degree program, the student will earn the academic credential that will be required for practising as a medical acupuncturist in private clinics and hospital settings including job opportunities in the international market.
